The UBACC assumes the development of specific analytical projects and development of new analytical methods in different fields such as drugs, natural products, food and food additives, organic contaminants, cosmetics, organic materials, etc. It is also responsable for analytical support for structural determination and purity and quality control of products generated at PPQF and UBIOTEC. The most representative activities carried out since 1998 are detailed below:
- Analysis of drugs and medicines, impurities, nitrosamines, degradation products and metabolites in raw materials and medicines, and biological samples.
- Development and validation of new chromatographic analytical methods.
- Drug stability studies on raw materials and medicines.
- Polymorphism studies in drugs.
- Isolation and identification of trace components, impurities, degradation products and metabolites of different nature.
- Isolation, purification and identification of bioactive components in natural extracts.
- Determination of metals in samples from different origins.
- Physical-chemical analysis for quality control and research with the different techniques available.
- Screening of compounds with high resolution (HR), UPLC-Orbitrap.
- Metabolomics studies in different matrices.
- Pharmacokinetic studies.
